- I can compare the physical and chemical properties of various substance to determine if one is a compatible substitute for the other (i.e.- compare properties of copper and plastic pipes)

- I can use the structure and properties of matter to classify pure substance and mixtures and identify patterns in the classification of matter
LP 1.5
- I can develop a procedure to separate mixtures based on the structure and properties of matter that comprise the mixture (i.e.-use filtration to separate matter based on particle size)

- I can identify careers in chemistry and explain how chemistry is applied in creating solutions for everyday problems
