LP 1.
I will be able to describe the characteristics of different forms of energy, including forms of potential and kinetic energy.
LP 2.
I will be able to describe how energy is conserved by transforming from one form to another and identify when energy enters or leaves a system.
LP 3.
I will be able to use the appropriate formulas to calculate transformations of energy, including forces performing work on a system.

During the course of the unit, students will acquire knowledge and develop skills which they will use to:

Students will invesigate changes in energy due to objects position and motion using various measuring devices.

Students will perform calculations using formulas to determine changes in position and motion of objects.

GS1: Questioning

Students can develop and use relevant scientific questions to investigate phenomena, test a hypothesis, conduct an experiment or solve a problem.

GS2: Investigation

Students can design and conduct appropriate scientific investigations.

GS4: Data Analysis and Interpretation

Apply a range of mathematical techniques  to make sense of and interpret data in real-world applications.

GS5: Explanation and Argumentation

Students can develop, evaluate and critique scientific claims/explanations, arguments and solutions based on evidence from the natural and designed world.
