Students will be able (I can) identify properties of vectors, comparing to scalar values.
Students will be able to identify direction and magnitude of various vectors included in the physics curriculum.

How do we determine the direction of a vector and what units are used to identify this direction?

Systems and system models. Defining the system under study—specifying its boundaries and
making explicit a model of that system—provides tools for understanding and testing ideas that
are applicable throughout science and engineering.
Variables in physics must be deteremined to be either a scalar or vector forcing students to provide a direction in vector values. Understanding the difference between a scalar and a vector is thus very important and prevelent throughout the course.
On maps, we are able to measure the displacement from one point to another, but more complicated mapping apps actual apply the actual distance travelled when performing arrival time estimates.
