The components and functions of blood (plasma, erythrocytes, leukocytes, platelets); the mechanics of the cardiac cycle; the structural differences between vessels (arteries, capillaries, veins); and how the system maintains homeostasis through blood pressure and pH regulation.

Analyze blood typing compatibility; model the flow of blood through the pulmonary and systemic circuits; conduct heart rate and blood pressure investigations; and dissect a mammalian heart to link anatomy to function.

Students will create "Blood Component" infographics, calculate cardiac output from experimental data, and draft a clinical report on a cardiovascular pathology (e.g., atherosclerosis).
