Students will write and find terms of geometric sequences, which will be used to find the sum of finite and infinite series and and applied to real life problems involving investment plans.
Geometric Sequences can reduce the amount of time it takes to find the sum of a sequence of numbers with a common ratio. For example: Use a geometric sequence to find the total vertical distance traveled by a bouncing ball.
Some students may find the common difference in stead of finding the common ratio.
Advanced students should master being able to find geometric sum and arithmetic sums of real world scenarios.
