Lesson Objective

Students will demonstrate their understanding of investigating patterns of association in bivariate data by reviewing key concepts and completing a comprehensive unit assessment.

How can we summarize our findings from scatter plots and two-way tables to describe relationships between two quantities?

What are the most effective strategies for interpreting lines of best fit and relative frequencies in real-world contexts?

8.SP.A.1-4: Investigate patterns of association in bivariate data.

Target J (Supporting): The student interprets patterns of association between two quantities in a scatter plot and interprets the slope and y-intercept in terms of the context.

Students will practice with specific question formats that mirror standardized assessments to build testing confidence and proficiency.

Description: This lesson provides a culminating review and formal assessment of the unit's topics, including scatter plots, trend lines, and two-way tables.

Purpose: To verify student mastery of bivariate data analysis before moving on to future algebraic concepts.

DOK Level: Level 3 (Strategic Thinking) - Students will evaluate and synthesize data models to solve complex problems.

Provide varied formats for review.
