For students to earn high school credit for Algebra 1, they must achieve an average of 80 or higher. Students who do not meet this requirement will take Algebra 1 Accelerated in high school and will not receive high school credit for 8th-grade Algebra 1. Credit will be awarded to students who complete high school courses in a Meriden Middle School when they attend Grade 9 at Maloney High School or Platt High School. By taking high school courses in middle school, students will have opportunities to earn college credits in high school.
