That "Ephemeral" art is temporary and meant to be enjoyed in the moment.

That the sun’s UV light causes a chemical change in the paper.

That an object blocks the light to create a "shadow" or silhouette.

Gather natural materials and sort them by physical properties.

Arrange materials into a purposeful design (circle, line, or pattern).

Arrange objects on sun-sensitive paper in a shaded area.

Carry the tray into the sun, wait for the color change, and rinse the paper in water to "fix" the image.

    • Student will create a "Nature Arrangement" and use a camera/tablet to photograph it, demonstrating their final composition before it is returned to the earth

  • Student will produce a high-contrast blue print and can point to the "shadow" (white area) and the "sun-kissed" (blue area) parts of the work.
