Lesson Objective

Students will refine their chosen sketch into a "tattoo-ready" design, focusing on Line Weight and clarity.

How does line thickness change the "readability" of a symbol? Is your design clear enough to be seen from a distance?

Line Weight: The visual lightness, darkness, or heaviness of a line within a drawing. Contour: An outline, especially one representing the shape of something.

VA:Cr2.1.HS: Demonstrate acquisition of skills and knowledge in technical drawing and ink application.

Precision and Clarity: Just as clear syntax makes a sentence readable, clear lines make a visual message understandable.

Description: Final inking. Purpose: Refining a concept into a professional-grade graphic. DOK Level 2: Skill application.

Graphic Design: How logos and icons must be simplified to be effective and reproducible.

"I should shade it with pencil." Correction: For this transfer method, we need high-contrast black ink. Use cross-hatching or stippling for "shading."
