The student will be able to identify the primary settings in each mode in the basic zone.

The student will be able to identify this mode as a primary setting for landscapes including standard settings and default settings.
The student will be able to look at a a scene and select the corresponding Basic Zone mode to optimize the camera’s behavior for that specific subject.

What settinga can I control in this mode?
Can I control any settings that affect the lighting or effect the mood of the photography?
What focusing options do i have in this mode?
What shooting modes or settings are available?

Students will understand the difference in approach and outcome between a snapshot and fine art photography.
Students will understand and that fine art photography relies heavily on the artist’s understanding and implementation of technical skills

This is a DOK level 2 skill. Selecting settings to be applied to a work of art requires basic understanding of the camera settings and how to manipulate them.

When students study photography and become more adapt at technical skills; they are more likely to grasp cultural differences within a piece of artwork as well as cultural relevance.

That all modes act the same and it doesn't matter which one you use.

That you should just go by the pictures listed when selecting a mode vs the settings.

Students will be given a modified assignment and /or aided in the help of setting their camera.

Students will complete at least one skill development assignment, as well as, one project. Portfolio will be submitted for assessment.

Where students able to see the value and the limits of this setting?

Each student will be provided with a dslr camera or a higher grade camera.
