Lesson Objective
The student will be able to identify the primary settings in each mode in the basic zone.
The student will be able to identify if the flash is on or off and when to leave it off.
The student will be able to identify the primary settings of a scene and select the corresponding Basic Zone mode to optimize the camera’s behavior for that specific subject.
When should we use a flash?
When or what setting may not allow us to use a flash?

This is a DOK level 2 skill. Selecting settings to be applied to a work of art requires basic understanding of the camera settings and how to manipulate them.
When students study photography and become more adapt at technical skills; they are more likely to grasp cultural differences within a piece of artwork as well as cultural relevance.
The flash will go on automatically if you need it.
All photography is better with a flash.
That all modes act the same and it doesn't matter which one you use.
That you should just go by the pictures listed when selecting a mode vs the settings.
Students will be given a modified assignment and /or aided in the help of setting their camera.
Students will complete at least one skill development assignment, as well as, one project. Portfolio will be submitted for assessment.
Where students able to see the value and the limits of this setting?

Each student will be provided with a dslr camera or a higher grade camera.
