Unit 2: PERFORM: Realizing artistic ideas and work through interpretation and presentation
Duration of Days: 180
Students will understand how advanced instrumental performance is shaped by technical skill, music literacy, analysis, and artistic decision-making. They will know how tone production, intonation, rhythmic precision, stylistic context, and ensemble collaboration influence interpretation, refinement, and audience impact.
Students will independently and collaboratively rehearse and perform advanced instrumental repertoire using refined technique and ensemble skills. They will analyze scores, interpret music with stylistic accuracy, lead rehearsal processes, apply feedback, and adapt performances for varied contexts.
Students demonstrate learning through advanced ensemble performance, independent preparation, leadership in rehearsal, and critical evaluation using established criteria. Evidence includes concerts, recordings, self-directed practice, rehearsal assessments, and performance-based rubrics aligned to NCAS.
