Unit 2: Perform
Duration of Days: 180
Students will understand how effective choral performance develops through ongoing rehearsal, technique, analysis, and collaboration. They will know how vocal production, music literacy, stylistic context, and conductor communication shape accuracy, expressiveness, ensemble balance, and audience response.
Students will rehearse and perform choral repertoire using appropriate vocal technique, solfège-based sight-singing, and ensemble skills. They will analyze scores, follow conductor gestures, initiate rehearsal strategies, apply feedback, and refine performances for a variety of presentation contexts.
Students demonstrate learning through prepared ensemble performances, rehearsal participation, sight-singing, reflective practice, and evaluation using established criteria. Evidence includes concerts, recordings, rehearsal assessments, practice reflections, and performance rubrics aligned to NCAS standards.
