Unit 4: MUSICAL INDEPENDENCE

Students will understand how independent musicians use rehearsal strategies, chord charts, tablature, stylistic interpretation, and performance preparation to learn and perform music effectively. Students will understand how musicians adapt to mistakes, communicate within performances, and develop musical independence through practice and reflection.

Students will independently learn and rehearse songs using chord charts and tablature, apply stylistic interpretation and rehearsal techniques, refine performance fluency, and demonstrate musical independence through individual performance preparation.

Students demonstrate learning through independent rehearsal checks, accompaniment performance exercises, stylistic interpretation activities, performance reflections, and an independent performance project.
