Students will understand that music reflects personal experiences, cultural traditions, historical events, and societal values. They will understand how composers, performers, and audiences create meaning through music and how context influences interpretation and performance decisions.
Students will make connections between music, culture, history, personal experience, and other disciplines. Students will apply contextual understanding to rehearsal decisions, performance interpretation, and evaluation of orchestral repertoire.
Students demonstrate learning through discussion, reflection, contextual analysis, rehearsal application, performance decisions, written responses, and evaluation of musical works using historical, cultural, and personal perspectives.
