063 LITERACY CONNECTIONS: PRIN OF TEXT

The goal of this course is to improve reading by focusing on decoding, morphology, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency. Students will focus on specific reading skills and strategies in order to improve their overall reading abilities. Students will have time for daily independent reading and conferencing with the teacher. Additionally, students will be assessed and will track their own progress with teacher guidance. Students will establish goals for themselves throughout the year and have opportunities for frequent self-reflection. This course must be taken in conjunction with a full credit English course.
