Students will know how to identify the characteristics of Young Adult Literature in a text; how and why the protagnotist's identity changes over the course of the text; how and why the protagonist's relationships impact them throughout the story; and how society and the protagonist impact each other in YA Literature.

Students will understand key instructional content as well as their ability to write in response to prompts across a series of genres.

Students will use a text and evidence to answer questions related to what students will know by the end of the course related to Identity, Relationships, and Soceity in Young Adult Literature.

Students will analzye the text for its genre structure and characteristics, literary elements, and the author’s purpose and craft.

Students will successfully use evidence from a text to answer assessment questions directly related to the units of the course.
