Lesson Objective

Students will read a predetermined number of pages in their novel and annotate in order to successfully participate in a literature circle discussion at the end of the week.

Students will be able to write a reflection based on their notes from the text and from their group discussion.

-What do you notice about the text’s genre structure and characteristics, literary elements, and the author’s purpose and craft?

- In what relationships do adolescents participate?

- How do relationships impact adolescence?

- How do our relationships evolve and change as we move through adolescence?

- How do authors use relationships to propel the story in Young Adult Literature texts?
