This course will introduce juniors and seniors to many of the best twentieth and 21st century writers of short stories, novels, and poetry. Emphasis will be upon discussion of ideas and of humanistic values rather than upon lengthy written analysis. Great novels will be presented by individuals or by panels of students. Those who write poetry will be encouraged to present their efforts to the class.
