The Advanced Placement English class is designed for students who have demonstrated superior work in English classes. This class emphasizes close reading and sophisticated analysis of a variety of texts and genres. As this discussion course focuses on college level reading, writing, and thinking skills, the amount of both reading and writing is extensive and work proceeds at a rapid pace. Students who enroll in this class are expected to take the AP English Literature and Composition Exam.
