Unit 4: Unit 4: The City in Motion
Duration of Days: 7
Student will know how to:
-Focus on structure, form, historical context, and how poets use language to convey meaning.
-Explore the city’s dynamics and compare urban infrastructure to a poem’s structure.
-Enhance writing skills using key concepts and mid-level abstractions.
Students will engage in material presented by Arizona State University and the Equity Lab. Students will be required to:
-Watch video lectures/discussions from Professor New and others regarding -Read assigned material including informational texts, and poetry reading packets (approx. 60 minutes).
-Complete the annotation assignment in which they must annotate poems for structure, theme, and concepts relating to city life.
-Take a quiz on unit material
Student will demonstrate their learning by:
- Taking the unit quiz (7-8 Questions- 2 hour time limit once opened)
- Annotations of poem (assessed by TA using the summative discussion post rubric on the course Canvas page)
